Following on from the success of last year's first engineering/overhaul photoshoot, COAP Wings is offering another opportunity for photographers visit Vulcan XL426 undergoing its winter maintenance at London Southend Airport.
Photographers will have special access to Hangar 6 on Saturday 17 January for unique scenes. COAP Wings will recreate scenes with a group of re-enactors, representing RAF service personnel as if they were working on the aircraft during its service life. A fantastic accompaniment to the 'live' Vulcan shoots in the usual calendar! A real portfolio-builder.
Subject to the XL426 maintenance programme schedule, COAP Wings aims to recapture as many genuine engineering scenes as possible in the hangar. Working on the undercarriage, under the wings, on the wing, in the bomb bay, with brake disc assemblies, etc... You get the idea, just like you were there some 50... Yes, fifty years ago!
Similar to the last shoot, COAP Wings will aim to document the paperwork service trail and tool room aspects of RAF maintenance operations as realistically as possible. Clean shoots with no people will also be possible.
Photographer numbers will be limited due to the restrictions imposed by this being a 'live' operating engineering space, so if you are interested in this opportunity please contact COAP Wings as soon as possible! Due to the nature of the work being undertaken, a maximum of 20 people will be allowed to attend the event.
The event will include fascinating insight from the Vulcan Restoration Trust team into the work involved in keeping a Vulcan ‘live’ and the opportunity to acquire some of the Trust's ever popular Vulcan merchandise.
Take advantage of this opportunity to expand your Vulcan portfolio.
This event is being organised by COAP Wings. For further information and to book tickets, please visit the COAP Wings website here.
