Text Donate

iPhoneMany of you will have donated to XH558, the flying Vulcan, using their JustTextGiving number. The service is provided by Vodafone and to donate, you send a specially worded text message to a certain number and your mobile phone account is debited with a donation to that particular charity. We are delighted to announce that the Vulcan Restoration Trust has set up a similar facility for XL426, so if you fancy making a donation of up to £10, grab your mobile phone and follow these instructions:

Text VULC44 and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 to 70070 to make a donation of £1, £2, £3 etc. to the VRT. So if you’d like to donate £5 for example, you create a new text message and type VULC445, send it to the number 70070 and the VRT gets £5. Text VULC4410 and the VRT gets £10! You will then get a reply text giving you the chance to add Gift Aid to your donation which would mean that the VRT gets a further 25% on top - not to be sniffed at. What could be simpler!

So the next time you drive past XL426, see a photograph on the internet or she comes to mind, grab your mobile phone and give her a little helping hand. Why the 44? Well she was the 44th Vulcan B.2 built – we considered 99 but that makes her sound like an ice cream, and where would we put the chocolate flake?

We look forward to your texts (lol, :-) etc)
